ST. NICOLAS SCHOOL certified for PICCOLINGO campaign
Piccolingo Camapaign, launched by The European Commission, is aimed in particular at parents, and seeks to promote learning foreign languages at a very early age (0 – 6 years).
This idea gathers professional organisations from across Europe who deal with education, family, social, cultural and linguistic issues.
Through the Piccoligno campaign, many parents will realise that learning languages before starting school is beneficial because their children will:
- Find communication easier
- Learn and memorise through play – good preparation
- Feel at home in any country
- Increase their chances of finding a job
- Find foreign countries alluring rather than threatening
- Appreciate their own culture
Twenty-seven EU countries take part in the campaign and ST NICOLAS SCHOOL is the first Serbian school, officially certified as an acknowledgement of our dedication to Piccolingo campaign.
As a supporter of Piccolingo initiatives, St Nicolas School will help develop language awareness and skills in children of pre-school age and will provide this kind of education to all children, regardless of their background.

ST. NICOLAS SCHOOL and the European Day of Languages
St Nicolas School celebrated the European Day of Languages in “Usce” Shopping Centre on 26th September. We saw it as a chance not only to point out the importance of learning languages but also to promote the understanding among different languages and different cultures. According to the concept of the Council of the European Union, the main aim of this celebration was the promotion of language and cultural diversity in Europe. Moreover, we wanted to encourage our citizens to start learning a foreign language or to improve their current knowledge so that they are welcomed when travelling abroad, successful in their jobs or simply able to have fun while speaking foreign languages.
